Subject:left hand bass range
This is slightly off the Electro topic, but about playing left hand
bass. I see the 76 note Electro has E as the lowest note, as is the
standard for 76 note keyboards Why is this? Does this bother anybody
else? I assume it is just historical precedent, because of the
Rhoades, but it means bass playing is limited to the low E. I sure
don't need the high E thru G, but it would be nice to play a low C or
D. I guess all manufacterer's do this, perhaps because they buy rather
than make the actual keyboard assemblies. A to C (i.e. just the top C
to C octave missing) would make more sense to me for 76 keys. I wonder
if any keyboards could have the keys shifted physically (and then
transposed to compensate); I am sure my Roland JV-90 would be a real
pain to do that to...
