To Jim, and the list,

I'm kinda wondering what some other people feel about thess issues.

The top drawbar cancellation for percussion was a 'necessary evil'
for Hammond because of circuitry limitations at the time. This
is no longer necessary (since the semiconductor and much more so
since the op-amp) but the sound of perc + top d/b has not had much
exploration. Should this be available?? Would people use this?

Hammond types say they use the cancellation as 'another preset' so
they can get a milder tone. But I think this in nothing more than
"making virtue of necessity".

Maybe some clones already avail themselves of this ability, if so
I'd like to know.

Also, concerning foldback: This is yet another compromise issue.
Fewer wheels not only reduce costs, but the freq extremes are
difficult mechanically. Too low can warble (though I loved my
model A) and too high can be awfully touchy. The Voce clones
were built around the 91 note generator chip (so I'm told) but
the Nord is modelled, right? Why couldn't it just 'go on up'
*without* folding back? The Hammond spinets 'without foldback'
are just absent several tones (which is what foldback does: fills
them in) but the Modelled units *could* carry this on up, right?

Could this be made available?? Couldn't hurt, could it?
