Hi Pete,

I had a Vk7 two years ago and it served me well for my classic rock band.
However, your observations regarding the high end are correct. It never
really hit the sound for me. When the XK2 came out I had to have one as the
waterfall keyboard was a huge perk for a B3 player. However, the tuning
problems on that board drove me nuts!

So I finally purchased a CX3 and love it. I also play the shi* out of it!
Love the sound and keyboard, and in every live recording I hear of my band I
swear there is a Hammond on stage.

But that is just my opinion. Many disagree. The VK certainly was a
dependable board, and I really liked it's keyboard too.

Have just joined your group.Most of the chat so far has been about CX3 and
Voce.Do none of you use the Roland VK7?
I have had my suspicions that I might have made the wrong choice with the
Roland.Although I have been playing keyboards for
30 years, never had a Hammond drawbar.With some help from Bruce, got the
sound better but still not convinced it sounds like a B3.Seems very screechy
up the top end of the keys.Do not have a Leslie, use the onboard
simulator,through 2 X100 watt Torque amps.Used to have a 145 but gave it
away 15 years ago.What a shame.Did'nt think the Leslie sound would come
back.Anyone that's happy with a VK7 let me know.
