Subject:Nord Electro - field report
I had a chance to use the Nord Electro this weekend. Here are some
kirst impressions:
Test set up - Nord Electro, Motion Sound KBR-3d, bypassed the
internal leslie.
- Size - TINY! only 37" long, 13" deep, 3 1/2" tall, 14 pounds.
Very solid construction.
- Keyboard - Excellent. Ivory. Round front waterfall keys. Correct
weight. Fast action.
- Controls - An acquired taste. Downer - no real drawbars. LED's are
very readable and immediately refelect current settings. 9 drawbar
presets and 9 user drawbar presets are very handy.
- Color - RED. Like the V5's orange, an acquired taste.
- Sound - I really liked it. It sounds very close to my B3. A late
model with excellent electronics, very clean.
- Piano sounds. Wurly and clavinet are great. Rhodes and Electric
Grand are good. The accoustic piano is so-so. I didn't spend a lot
of time tweaking these.
This board despite its excentricities is really great.
