sort of Motion Sound "clone", with a real rotating horn and a 800hz

Just finished such a device this week and it sounds great:

- 2nd hand driver and Rotor assembly (including 2-speed motor).
- Rubber o-belt to connect motor and horn.
- 800Hz x-over (just a cap).
- Motor speed control based on 2 $7 Solid State relays from
Radioshack: 275-310 actually a Sharp S101S05V part. All you need to
do is supply 1.5V control voltage.

Everything (but the amp) is mounted on a rectangle of plywood using
2x3 blocks. Then I bolted that into an SKB 8-space rack.

Total parts cost was about $300.

To round off the rig:
- '70s Traynor YBA-1 "Bassmaster" as an amp (3x12A7, 1xEL34@50W)
- 1x12" fixed speaker cab for lows (3kHz Low pass filter, and
powerline tweeter w/attenuator which is set to off when using the
rotor).

What is especially surprising to me is how good my wurly sounds
through this setup.

The only thing I miss is the ability to gradually spin down the rotor
which I used to get using a canabalized 8" foam baffle from a console
organ. However, when I wired up the above speaker, I provided slave
motor control and speaker outputs so I can play w/running dual mini-
leslies (until my guitarist starts bringing his 2nd cab and then I'll
need 2 more leslies...)

I'm also not sure on stage volume yet- putting the bassmaster
past "2" on the volume dial is painful in my basement.
