I've used a cannibalised Leslie copy as my lower rotor combined with
a Pro-3T for a number of years. The advantages are that the speaker
system fits in the back of the car is easy to move around

Many years ago I obtained a Leslie clone very cheaply. It was based
on the Italian built spacesound OEM units. However, it had a number
of problems:
- too big
- no proper cross-over, only a limiting capacitor
- poor bass response
- noisy speed switching
- no brake control
As such I laid it to rest many years ago.

A few years ago before the low-pro came out, I bought a Pro-3T, and
realised I really wanted a moving lower rotor, and decided to see if
I could use the Leslie clone. I chopped it, fitted a better speaker,
and added brake control. Recently I have modified it so that the the
rotor coasts instead of being slowed by the slow motor, which gives
the classic slowing down sound. I use it with a 31-band GEQ to get a
good a reasonable tone.
