Subject:OB5

James,

I tried out the OB5 at the summer NAMM July 2000

I liked the look, size, price, options, etc.

Comments:

Sound-the basic drawbar tone was ok the suroundings were not condusive to
listening so I will reserve judgement until I can hear it properly.

Percussion: Thin sounding
V/C: terrible too watery
Leslie Effect:Virtually useless warbling at fast speed, slow speed barely
acceptable?
OS; very unfriendly
Keyboard feel:Decent, same keys as new CX3.
Price:Very well priced too bad it is so weak overall.
Packaging:The strongest point is it has a lot of options.

Weakness:build quality ?
Reliability ???
No locking cover available?
Sound quality ???

My choice.The Korg CX3. It's more expensive as a single keyboard but it is
(IMO) the best clone to give you the "Hammond" experience.

I would be afraid to take on OB5 out on the road.
