Ken,

The pads are made of a sticky rubber, and yes, each time a key is pressed,
they are ripped out of their happy state, causing the reed to vibrate. The
do wear out. Anyone have a set?

BTW, the Pianet was used on many early Beatles recordings, and is the sound
on the Guess Who's "These Eyes". It always reminded me of a Wurlitzer, but
with a lot less dynamic range.
