Subject:Re: KBR-3D

I own a KBR 3-D, and I like the amp. Some people have complained about the
piano sound, but I am very impressed with the sound of the stationary
channel. The organ channel is not a Leslie, but the sound is as close as
you are going to get without buying a Leslie. My clones are a Hammond XB-2,
and an Oberheim OB3-2. I use an Alesis QS-8 for piano.
The drawback of the KBR 3D is the inability of the amp to handle bass at a
louder volume. The ten inch speakers are not heavy-duty enough to handle a
great deal of volume. If you are not concerned about volume, then I highly
recommend the KBR 3-D. I have to use 2 amps in order to get the proper
amount of volume (and I don't play that loud). There are 4 internal mikes
in the KBR 3D, and I mike the amp through a Fender KXR 200 keyboard amp
(which has a 15 inch speaker). I run the direct out from the Fender into
the P A. The sound of these 2 amps together is killer, but I wish the
Motion Sound people would put a heavy duty 10 into the KBR 3D. You may not
need more bass, but I play quite a few blues festivals and I need the extra
bottom. The KBR 3-D is a very reliable amp, and you may want to demo one to
use for a gig.

before and a roland kc-300 amp (amp currently for sale) I love the
sound of the kbr and the cx-3 together. I am fairly new to organ
playing and for my ears it's a great combination. One of the
drawbacks however is that every time you change the program on the
organ you have to turn the rotary switch off. If you don't it sounds
crappy coming out of the kbr. I have never owned a Pro-3T. Hope this
helps. Howard from Seabrook,New Hampshire,USA
