Subject:Re: Kurzweil KB3 Sounds on 2600

Hi Ed,
Question for you: How's your history with Kurzweil in terms of reliability?
My first Kurxweil was a PC-88, which needed a new keybed after about 9
months. The PC-2 I just bought is my 2nd one; the first was completely
screwed up when I got it, and this replacement needed a new battery right
when I took it out of the box, and I have lost all my user setups 3 times now
when powering up (the first 2 times were before I replaced the battery; the
3rd since then - at least I backed them up on my computer after the first
time), and there's a key that's clunky.

Bad luck I guess?? I agree its a very cool keyboard and Kurzweil does have a
great rep. as far as I know, but this one has given me about 2 weeks of
headaches, and I'm about ready to send it back for a refund and get something
else, maybe an XP-80. I already have some good expansion cards for it, and
my XP-50 (which I'm selling) has never failed me. Actually I've never had a
Roland fail me in all these years. Who knows - I guess we weren't meant to
be together ;-)
