The new Motion-Sound will not have a rotary channel, but I think it is only
a matter of time before the new version of the KBR 3-D is introduced. I was
speaking with a rep at Motion Sound, and if you didn't know, there were 2
types of speakers installed in the KBR 3D, the early models had a co-ax
speaker, and after January 2000 there are Eminence beta speakers in the KBR
3D. The early co-ax speakers had a better bass response. Has anyone on the
list (with a KBR 3D)
replaced their speakers with a speaker designed to handle more volume?

Here are a few ideas I think would be great in a new version of the
KBR-3D.

1. Lower the weight of the KBR-3D

The JBL speakers used in their EON line use neodymium magnets, which
they claim makes for very light weight. I wonder if these speakers
are available, either for Motion Sound to offer (possibly as a custom
option) or for KBR-3D owners to do their own replacement, assuming
they are available with the same resistance. I know JBL talks about
using front speaker vents for air cooling in their EON line, so I
wonder if the neodymium magnets have more stringent temperature
requirements than regular magnets. In the new EON10 G2 cabinet they
are used with a 125 amp, and the whole cabinet (with driver, two
power
amps and a mixer) weighs 23 lbs.

2. Add a subwoofer out

This is already mentioned on the Motion Sound site on a page about
their new KT200-S keyboard amp, which is labled preliminary spec:

Subwoofer mono line output (below 100 Hz) is one of the features; it
would be even better if it also meant that these frequencies were
filtered out of the KBR-3D's amp, so that it only tried to reproduce
frequncies above 100 Hz.

3. Switchable monitor channel

This is already available, but only on the Motion Sound KBR-M:

If I understand it correctly, it allows the line in to go to the amp,
but be removed from the line out, so you can get a small PA feed into
the KBR-M to use as a monitor as well as your own sounds, but will
not send the monitor signal back to the PA, which wo9uld cause a
feedback loop. Don't know about anybody else, but I could use this
feature.

Maybe some or all of these could be implemented by the owner, with
some help from Motion Sound, but I think they'd make a good product
even better...
