Subject:v3 and foldback
has anyone noticed this? it's sort of trivial, but anyway... on my v3,
the upper harmonics which fold back are significantly quieter than the
corresponding tones which are not folded back. for example, with only the
1' drawbar pulled out, G5, G6, and G7 all produce the same tone, yet G6 is
quieter than G5, and G7 is quieter still. having never tried this on a
hammond, i don't know if this is hammond behavior, but i would think not,
since the tones would all be coming from the same tonewheel via much the
same circuit.
i guess ways to get around this are to choose lower voicings and use
lower drawbars, but when using higher registrations, i still notice it.
anyone have any idea why this is?
