Subject:Micro B II vs. V5 and other questions

Hi there,

I have several questions for the list. Here they are.

1. Any users out there besides me who have both the Micro B II and the V5?

According to the folks at DR Music, both units have the same synth "engine".
I was told that if you set the drawbars on the V5 to match any given preset
on the Micro B II and turn off all the effects on both units
(chorus/vibrato, overdrive etc.) , they should sound virtually identical.

But I have found that they actually sound quite a bit different. The V5
sounds much 'cleaner' and the Micro B II has more of a 'dirty' or 'raspy'
quality (especially on presets with the first three drawbars pulled out to 8
and the rest set at or close to 0) It's not necessarily bad, just quite
different from the V5. And yes, the overdrive is turned completely off on
both units.

Has anyone else found this to be true or is it just my equipment?

2. Have any other Micro B II users found that the overdrive on the Micro B
II is quite subtle? Much more so than the V5? Any comments?

3. Can anyone offer opinions on the original Spin module and how it
compares with units like the Korg G4 or maybe the H&K Tube Rotosphere?

Thanks,

-Scott
