Subject:Re:: [Voce] V-5 shorting out

I have an idea on this problem. I'm an electrical engineer and often
repair audio equipment in my spare time. I'm thinking this is a
problem with the volume control pot. Most likely a solder joint for
the pins on this component has become damaged through stress. Often
the breaks are too thin to see with the naked eye but remelting all
potentiometer pins might solve the problem. You can jiggle the
control
and see if you can affect the connection. A person with basic
soldering skills could repair this.

Of course there could be a bad connection or solder joint anywhere
else that can interrupt the audio path. I unfortunately had a key
IC chip go out in my Micro BII.

Good luck
