Her's my rig:
I use a Roland Rd-600 for Rhodes and Wurly electric pianos, clav and strings,
a Hammond XK-2 organ and a Voce V5 for organ, and Kurzweil Micro piano for
acoustic piano and digital electric grand (cool cound), and I just got a
Virus B virtual analog synth for (you guessed it - synth sound) The Virus is
very cool; it sits on top of the XK-2 right next to my V-5 and has all the
real time analog control.
I got a steal on the XK-2; it's got the real B-3 action and it solved a few
problems for me: I was constantly getting stuck notes when using my V-5 in
Multitimbral mode with 2 keyboards. Bruce and a few others thought it had to
do with my using 2 Roland keyboards that both use active sensing. I
troubleshot it to hell, but could never solve it. Anyways, I use the V-5 for
upper manual and midi the XK-2 into my RD-600 for lower manual organ. Live
drawbars on both manuals -OH BOY!!! The RD is a great controller, and I've
set up all kinds of splits and layers with the organ sounds.

I use a Motion Sound KBR-M amp for my speaker for organ, piano and synth.
It's a little weak in the low end, but I don't power a room with it, just put
it behind me as a monitor. It's already got a mic built in on the horn, so
all it needs is an XLR out of it. I love it. When I don't have room for it,
I use my Tube Rotosphere and a JBL EON powered 10 or 15' speaker; I have 1 of
each.

I have a rack with a Rolls RM-65 line mixer, juice goose power supply, 2
Whirlwind DI boxes and the Micro piano. And a homemade pedal board with an
Ernie Ball pedal for organ, and a Roland EV-5 expression pedal for midi
volume control on the piano, and a Roland FV?? volume pedal for the Virus
synth. I use an invisible keyboard stand which I prefer over any X style
stands because of the height and support for large keyboards, more space and
leg room underneath and because it allows me to play 2 keyboards flat with no
angle on the 2nd. This is better for my wrists. Oh yeh - a Roc and Soc drum
throne with back rest. Great investment; real comfy - well worth the $$. I
cart it all around with a Rock 'n'Roller supercart. 1 trip for everything
except the Motion sound amp, which has it's own wheels on the case.

I also have all my cables color coordinated and velcroed and homemade velcro
cord ties and some on the bottom of the keyboard and on the stand, which
makes set uup a breeze and easy on the eyes.

I am personally allergic to SKB equipment. Every SKB case I've owned (about
5 or 6), and everybody I know that uses or has used them, hates them. The
latches always break and the covers fall off in transit, and I got tired of
it. I've owned the new SKB economy cases and the old syle. I buy all my
cases now from Discount Distributors in NY (800) 346-4638). I payed 80.00
for my 4 space case and it is light, and built to last. Top quality, unlike
SKB.
