Subject:micro B part 2
I finally got the micro B through an Amp (Super Reverb) and it sounds much better, still a bit of grind from the unit in the background and the bass notes are a tad noisy at the activation/deactivation points but all in all a big improvement. The SR is not a keyboard amp but will do for now.
The RPM-1 has to go though, don't care for the sound and am not buying more gear to massage it's tone.I've saved the posts on Leslie sims so I know the options available to me. A fella threw another one into the mix and said it was much better than the RPM, I believe it's a Rolls RP- 147 Rotohorn, anyone try one of these????
Thanks,
John
Has anyone heard about the Jimmy Foster tapes???? A fella is helping out a musician in need by putting out 60min videos of Jimmy playing some great B3. This is home movie stuff but well done and Jimmy cooks, throwing down stuff from Smith, Mcduff, Sinatra, Rawls, BB King and a very cool version off Ebb Tide (very flashy) lots of tunes in different styles.I have tapes 1&2 and love them, they are humblers for a keyboard stumbler such as I am.It's very cool watching someone work the organ like this and his left hand action is probably worth the price of the tapes. If interested please let me know and I will put you in touch with the folks involved. I'm not considering this spam as I'm not making anything from it and the guy making the tapes is just getting enough to pay for the dupes and shipping, Jimmy gets the dough.
