Subject:Voce with Leslie preamp and output voltage question.

A comment re Leslie preamps.

I'm using a V-3 with the Leslie 6 pin output to a Leslie 122.

Alternatively, I have the wedge-shaped preamp footswitch also which allows me
to use the phono plug output of the V-3 instead.

No matter how I adjust the tone of the preamp, the quality of sound is much
better when I don't use the preamp and run my 6 pin cable directly to the
Leslie.

Despite the mod to the V-3 to increase its output, it doesn't compare to the
output of an A-100 or B-3. Amels said to change the preamp tube in the
Leslie instead of messing with the V-3.

I would like to quantify the differences in output voltage. Can someone tell
me how to check the voltage output from the Hammond preamp vs. the V-3?
Should I just pull the Leslie plug out slightly so that I can get my meter on
the pins while they are still under load?

Thanks.
