As I mentioned a while back, I use a Roland EP-7 mk II digital piano with my
V5. I believe its action is identical to the A-33's. I think it's pretty good
for organ (though not at all identical to a B) and not bad for piano. I
originally gave the A-70 a look, only to balk once I realized it wasn't
semi-weighted. Perhaps I'll look for one and try it out again...
The MIDI implementation on my rig couldn't be more primitive; the EP-7 (which
I affectionately call "Eppy") is always triggering the V5. An inline volume
pedal mutes the V5 when I want to hear piano, and the onboard volume slider
mutes Eppy when I want to hear organ. No controller # 7 or sys-ex or program
changes involved. I used to have all that when I used my Kurzweil K2000 as
controller, but I'd much rather have a good action than all the programming
flexibility in the world.
