Subject:Re: [Voce] Roland 'A' series controllers

Ed,
I have an A30. The differences that I know of are:
(1) The A33 has two midi-outs, the A30 has only one.
(2) The A33 has an expression pedal input. The A30 doesn't.
The A33 may have some more improved midi implimentation also. Perhaps an
A33 owner can help you out with that info. Go to lilchips.com for more info
on these controllers, newsgroups etc... I have found the A30 a little
limited in terms of running two modules. I can do it by daisy-chaining them,
but not with the simplicity of having two midi outs. However, I got it
cheap. The $100 or so extra you might spend on an A33 might be worth it if
you plan to run more than one module. As far as I know the layout of the
keyboard/ action etc... is the same between the two models. I velcro my V5
down on the A30 and it sits great (it does block off a bunch of lower keys,
but that doesn't bother me because I only want the 66 keys for organ).
Cheers,
Eamonn
