Thanks. I agree, but I'll muddy the thought process up a bit more: Why
not the 100-key Bosendorfer grand that I've been wanting all my life?
Or is it the Yamaha grand that Elton John used to haul around? Even
*that's* subjective. Hammond owners debate the merits of 50's vs. 60's
B-3's -- vs. A-100's -- all the time. (A-100's have deeper C3 vibrato,
BTW, by virtue of the minor changes necessary to support an internal amp
and speakers.)

Yeah, I forgot that one. They're really hard to come by. In addition
to the cost issue you mentioned, they take up 4 or 6 rack spaces (I
don't remember which), removing a little more of the reason why someone
would go to a sim in the first place; i.e., size, weight, cost,
complexity.
There are many ways to eliminate a Leslie from your setup, but you also
have to step back and think about what you are trying to do. I debated
about using the combination of an RPM-1 and my Quadraverb (in Lezlie
mode) a few years back. It sounded pretty decent, but required more
mixer inputs, a complicated foot pedal setup (the RPM doesn't respond to
MIDI), and careful balancing of the two effects -- not worth the effort,
IMHO. MikeW mentioned using two PRO-3T's, which probably sounds killer,
but is that any better than dragging around *one* Leslie? I guess it
depends on your situation.
