I will have to re-visit the G4, if only to refresh my first impression. I
remember stumbling over one in a store, tried it out and the primary issue I
remember was it's unforgiveable hiss, ramping up and then ramping down to
quiet. Also a lack of organic sound, a very predictable tepid swirling
gurgle. A high school physics teacher's words come to mind concerning all
of this, "There is no free lunch". But perhaps he was only angry that his
thermos of toxic Irish Coffee had run dry too early in the school day. Is
it really back to the heavy lifting in the 21st century?

Those of you thinking about different Leslie sims might check out
some of the other threads on this list. I posted my review of the
KORG G4 under a thread here called 'Leslie sims'. The subject lines
on these lists can sometimes be a little inadequate. Anyway, anyone
considering getting an H&K Rotosphere would do well to look into the
KORG G4. For the money, I found the Roto to be inflexible and
overrated. It's most redeeming quality was that it's fairly quiet,
which I think is a trade off for it's lack of 'kahunas'. Used G4's
turn up on eBay every so often, usually about $200.
