Subject:more about voce service
Thanks Bruce for giving another lead in my quest for service for my
Micro BII. CAE sound in CA was where DR Music directed me for parts
when I inquired about service - unfortunately CAE said they don't
sell
parts and told me to call DR Music!
I did get a response from the maker of the IC I needed and they said
that they sold the specified IC to VOCE, Inc (now out of business)
and
last sold to them in 1995. (I purchased the unit in 1998).?
I understand Bruce what you are saying about the OEM. Dave Amels
and Alberto Alonso probably hired a contract manufacturing outfit to
produce VOCE products per design specification so the OEM just builds
what they have on paper (which is probably full of lots of markups)
and sends it out the door. Getting parts means bugging the
purchaser or manufacturing engineer at the OEM when it isn't their
job
in the first place.
I have several questions for the group.
Is the Micro BII being manufactured at this time? DR said they were
"back ordered".
Is Amels or Alonso aware of this group? They could offer some
valuable
input. (I met them at the 1995 NAMM show - booth #2427. They seemed
like nice guys.)
Does DR Music know about this group?
Does anyone have any broken VOCE gear they might want to sell? I can
usually fix anything or use spare parts.
