PK-5 Pedalboard hookupRandy,

I forget, are you using a V3 or a V5? If it's the V3, you can assign a
pedal MIDI channel, and then you can assign a default V3 patch (all nine
drawbars!) for the pedals and/or give the pedals their own set of MIDI
drawbars -- they're quite a common item on eBay these days...
Seriously, though, the default pedal patch is one of the first things on the
patch edit menu.

If it's the V5, I believe the pedal channel is UpperChannel + 2, wrapping
around at the top. I don't know what the default pedal patch is -- you can
change it, too, using the pedal MIDI channel -- but it sounds from your
letter like it's the same as the lower keyboard, probably 888000000 or
838000000. I don't know if there's anything you can do about that.

Subject: [Voce] PK-5 Pedalboard hookup

Would like to be doing a bassline thing with the
Roland PK-5 (13 pedals) that I have but have not been able to get a
discrete bass sound except the 13 lowest notes as a repeat of the lower 13
keys of the single (upper) manual keyboard. Shouldn't the 13 lowest notes
of the upper manual sound different than the 13 notes available using the
Roland PK-5 controller? Reassigning the octaves does nothing. Any ideas?
