Maybe this "community" should be freely accessible to potential as well
as actual Voce owners.
[BW] Technically speaking, the list is ALREADY open to potential
owners; it says so on The Voce Page. The big difference in publishing our
existence would probably by that someone who wanted to join, say, the Roland
VK-7 group (if one exists) might also notice the Voce group in the ONElist
catalogue and subscribe.
3. Right now, I've got it set up so that new members can read the
discussions, but cannot publish e-mails until I change their
status -- which requires them to read the charter and reply that
they agree with it. I've done this to prevent spammers from
joining and broadcasting junk mail, and I think it's a good
policy. Does anybody disagree?
So long as access to the archives is possible, including an expanded FAQ
section for new users (Bruce's answers are a gold mine) a short read-only
period sounds like a good idea.
[BW] An expanded FAQ is a great idea! How about other contributors to
the FAQ? I don't mind taking your work and converting it to HTML, if you;re
not a programmer, but I'm running short on ideas, and occasionally, time. I
plan to put the 'Drawbar Sandwich' up there when I have the time, and I'd
like to add other ideas, like Donn's 'Acrylic Wedge'. Just send me text and
drawings, and I'll do the rest.

Does anyone disagree with this policy?
