Subject:Re: Mounting Drawbars to a solid base

Dear List,

Regarding the A-series controllers, I just bought an A70 with expansion card
at the "blowout" price of $499 from Sam Ash; I hope it matches the V5. It
has 20 realtime midi controls on it (including sliders), which should prove
useful.

Regarding the V5 use on gigs with short setup times, here's what I do. I
have mounted with Velcro the V5, H&K Rotosphere, midi merge-box, and power
strip onto a shallow single rack shelf, leaving about three rack-unit spaces
above it empty.

I can easily change and see the V5 controls in this setup. It is not like a
B3, obviously, but it is not hard to execute rapid drawbar changes with this
configuration.

Setup is nearly instantaneous and worry-free. This setup secures all the
wall warts and protects the drawbars. I use an external footswitch for the
H&K.

I am doing this because I do not have a (good) backup for the V5 so I don't
want to take any chances by transporting it atop the keyboard with cords
hanging out. I also don't want dirt and dust getting into the Voce or H&K.

If anyone has more ideas on setups, by all means, let me know.

Thanks all for the good information!
