Dean,
The SPIN circuit itself is a little noisy, but it's greatly magnified by
being next to the digital circuitry in the V3. Having designed products
with digital and analogy circuits on the same PC board, I know it's not
the easiest thing in the world to do. That said, though, the bleed-over
of the SPIN system in the V3 is clearly the weakest link in what would
otherwise be a superb design.
With the V5 and SPIN in separate cases, the issue goes away.
Best regards,
-BW

Hi,
The price of that SPIN for $99.00 seems pretty good to me but more
importantly it sparked a question (stupid or otherwise). One of the best
reasons to get an external Leslie or simulator for the V3 or V5 is to
take
direct outs before the main output for noise reasons. If a SPIN was
purchased
and used in this manner, is it still as noisy as the integrated internal
one?
Put another way, how much of the hiss and noise is to do with the SPIN
electronics VS the final AMP gain staging?
Thanks, everyone,
Dean (as midi savvy as I want to be)
