Subject:RE: keyboards and bass pedals for a V5 . . . HELP!

I use a Yamaha AN1x as my upper keyboard. The touch is reasonably
light -- not as light as the A-30/A-33, but not that "weighted synth"
action that doesn't really feel like a piano or an organ -- and the AN1x
is both a great analog-style synth, and easy to adjust during
performance. [If you use the Local Off feature, send the MIDI In to a
patchbay (for your V5), and then patch the signal back to the MIDI In.
You now can change from AN1x to V5 with one button press (Tx Channel),
since the AN1x allows for different transmit and receive MIDI channels.]

The only odd thing I've noticed is that the AN1x's keyboard has a
slightly smaller pitch than my lower keyboard (Fatar)! Over 5 octaves,
the difference works out to be about 1/2 a white key. It doesn't feel
different when playing, but I used to use a D-50 for the top, and when
setting up the rig, I always lined up the high C's on the Roland and
Fatar, making a pseudo-B3 form my V3. With the AN1x, I have to push it
back to the left a little, to even out the size difference between
manuals. Very odd. Anybody else notice this on their keyboards?

I'm reorganizing my rig around the V5 so ask: What 61-note keyboard
controller do you folks use (or recommend) with the V5? Is the Roland
PK-5
an acceptable midi bass pedal unit, and if not, what would you
recommend?
