Hey Pete,
It's funny how subjective the perception of music and tone is, some people can't except anything except the original setup i.e.. real live Leslie 122.At this stage of the game a good "recorded" sound of a Leslie will be fine.In fact I'm going to give the Roland Keyboards of the 60's and 70's another listen before I plop down the cash for the V5.
Thanks for the input,
JT

Hi John
I use a Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere with my V5. I've had it for 2 years or so now, and find itdoes a fair job. Like any effect box, it relies on a good amp and speakers, but both in the studio and through decent PA systems it sounds OK.
The advantage of a Pro 3 would be that it actually sprays the sound around the room like a real Leslie does. A stomp box like the Rotosphere will only ever sound like a *recording* of a Leslie. Having said that, if you are like me and like the sound of a *static* (non-rotating) sound (as on so many of the classic Blue Note organ records) the Rotosphere gives the sound a warm tone very similar to that of a Leslie in *brake* mode.
I use my Rotosphere with my Hammond C3 as well as the V5, and can't find much to complain about it (which is unusual for me, just ask my friends!)
Good Luck in your quest!

Hi, My name's John Timberlake, I'm new to the list and the Hammond craze.I've recently been bitten by the Hammond bug and have to have that sound.I've tried sound fonts with no luck, even the good ones sound a bit cheesy.I picked up an M3 recently but it will take quite a bit of work and money to get the sounds I want from it. So I searched the net for B3 modules and Voce was the best sounding of the lot. I'm an amateur musician and only play at home so I won't have the problems that a giging musicians will but after many years of guitar playing (electric and acoustic) I do know that a good sound and quality instrument make the learning curve a much more enjoyable experience. So on with the questions. I'll be using a Roland A-70 and Voce V5, next I need a Leslie simulator, are any of the stomp boxes or rack units worthwhile or is the Pro 3T the only solution???? I've seen a few Pro 3's for sale, are they a worthwhile unit if the price is right, is some sort of tube overdrive needed if ya go with the Pro 3??? Next I'd need something to amplify the bass tones, any suggestions??? I'm thinking maybe a Fender keyboard amp, 100 or 200 watts, 15" speaker. If there was a module of some sort that would work for the Leslie sim could I set things up to run through my sound card (SBL Platinum,1/4" line in, a midi in as well) and feed it to my stereo system??? Kenwood 65 watt to a 4 way speaker set up with Sansui's (12 in woofer,2-3" speakers, a 2" tweeter and a horn).Stereo is already linked to the puter. Well, that's it for now, any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, JT my main interests, blues, rock and jazz
