I use a Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere with my V5. I've had it for 2
years or so now, and find itdoes a fair job. Like any effect box, it
relies on a good amp and speakers, but both in the studio and through
decent PA systems it sounds OK.
The advantage of a Pro 3 would be that it actually sprays the sound
around the room like a real Leslie does. A stomp box like the Rotosphere
will only ever sound like a *recording* of a Leslie. Having said that,
if you are like me and like the sound of a *static* (non-rotating) sound
(as on so many of the classic Blue Note organ records) the Rotosphere
gives the sound a warm tone very similar to that of a Leslie in *brake*
mode.
I use my Rotosphere with my Hammond C3 as well as the V5, and can't find
much to complain about it (which is unusual for me, just ask my
friends!)
