Hi Patrick - yeah got your other two postings as well!

I like the Roland A30 for 3 main reasons:
(1) There's room above the mod wheel to velcro mount the V5. I lose the use
of half an octave of notes at the bottom of the keyboard but since the A30
is a 6 octave keyboard and I only need 5 for organ - that's no big deal for
me. I need those drawbars real near me.
(2) It has an action that I find pretty good for playing organ - and
reasonable for piano as well.
(3) It's light.

Oh yeah, it's cheap as well.

The third is also a disadvantage since playing the A30 is the furthest thing
from sitting behind a behemoth console organ. Having more things to set up
and missing the physicality of the Hammond are the two biggest compromises
I've had to make with this rig.

I had a look at the Fatar - but I found it too flimsy feeling, even compared
to the A30.

If I was starting to set up a clone organ rig again tomorrow here's what I'd
do:
(1) Have another listen to the Hammond Suzuki XK2 to see if it still sounds
like shit (sorry!)
(2) Have a very close listen to - and play of the new Korg CX3.
(3) Probably buy the same things again - but this time buy the A33. It has
two midi outs and an expression pedal out.

BTW, thanks to all for your help with the whole V5 wallwarts issue. Ken, I
loved your idea about mounting wallwarts inside keyboards etc... but I'm too
inept electronically to have a go at that. I think Dave's pedal board option
is the way I'm going to go. Ed, please keep us posted as to how you like the
Barbetta 41c - as I'm also thinking about buying that amp. Thanks again.

Another question for all you V5ers. How do you transport your V5 to keep it
safe?
