Subject:Re: [Voce] Wallwarts etc...
Dave--your setup sounds fantastic!
Here's my solution. I don't claim it is ideal, but it is the best I have
been able to figure out so far. I use a foot keyboard for bass so I cannot
use a wall-wart pedalboard.
RACK: In a lightweight six-space shallow rack, I have on a lower shelf a
power strip (actually square) holding wall warts and a Rotosphere mounted
backwards so the jacks face the front. On an upper shelf I have the V5, and
adjacent to it a midi merge box, with the input jacks facing outwards. The
rack is six-spaces (even though only two spaces are used) so that the V5 can
be easily seen and reached.
SETUP TIME: At a gig, all I have to do is plug in a volume pedal and Leslie
handswitch to the Rotosphere, and midi cables into the midi merge box. It
takes only a couple of minutes. The wall wart cables are secured out of
harm's way, within the rack.
STAND ISSUES: I use two QuikLok WS550 stands. I put the two keyboard manuals
on one WS550 with the pedal keyboard below it. On the second WS550 I put the
V5 rack. The WS550 stands require zero setup time and are very stable. They
are also wide enough to accomodate pedal keyboards.
REACHING THE V5: I place one WS550 stand perpendicular to another so that I
can easily reach the V5.
So far, this is the fastest setup I have been able to figure out.
